September Newsletter
Hello all, and happy September.
We’ve got lots of great news to share from the past month and are, as always, grateful for your support in driving this fight forward.
First, we were honored to join Susan Cronn on iHeart Radio’s The Word on Medicine to discuss the importance of creating gender equity in vehicle safety development through crash equity research – listen here.
Second, Kea Wilson interviewed me for StreetsBlog USA about the bipartisan She DRIVES Act, and why it is critical that Congress prioritize making cars safe for women as soon as possible; read it here.
Third, WGME 13 (my hometown news station!) did a story on Drive and our work here. Thank you to Anna Coon for her careful reporting, and to our TikTok followers who watched – our clip from the interview currently has over 500,000 views, 99,900 likes, 16,000 shares, 7,800 saves, 1,700 comments, and a total watch time of over 4,660 hours. Thank you, WGME!
Fourth, August 26th was Women’s Equality Day; it was also our very first Day of Advocacy for the She DRIVES Act. We are proud to have officially launched our Contact Your Legislators tool to commemorate – it offers an easy way to send a customized message to your Senator encouraging them to co-sponsor and pass the She DRIVES Act.
Since August 26th, our tool has been used over 715 times to contact Senators from 49 states. Thank you to those who have taken action, and to those who haven’t had a chance – please consider joining us now. Let’s get to all 50!
As you can tell, it’s been an exciting month at Drive, and we’re looking forward to what September brings. Thanks for coming along.
If you have any questions or want to learn more, my inbox is always open.
Warmly,
