One Month Out!
Hey team!
It's been an exciting first month for our organization, and we are thrilled to share with you some of our latest updates.
First, we are proud to announce that we have received nearly 500 signatures on our petition since it was launched just one month ago. We are grateful for the support we have received so far, and we are hopeful that this momentum will continue to grow as we work towards ending gender discrimination in crash testing.
In addition to our petition, we recently launched Team Drive! This initiative to bring together some of the top young women from across the country, highlight their great contributions to gender equity, and raise awareness of all the work we still have to do together. Read more about the Team and about our incredible first Teammate, Olympic Nordic Skier Sophia Laukli, here!
We also responded to some big events. First, we addressed and shared information on the GAO report that required NHTSA to create a comprehensive plan for updated crash testing standards in the next 180 days. Next, when Senator Schmitt tweeted that a federal effort to ensure gender equity in car crash testing was "beyond parody," we wrote him a letter.
We also supported and amplified voices of survivors. We worked to lift up those who have experienced crashes and shared their stories on Reddit, Discord, and TikTok.
Lastly, we had the pleasure of hosting our first Let's Talk Instagram live with Jacqueline Azah, young activist and organizer who founded New Beginnings Atlanta and hosts the Political Princess Podcast. Watch our conversation here.
We are so proud of the work we've done in our first month as a nonprofit, and can't wait to see what month two brings. We are grateful for your support -- whether it's donating, signing the petition, following us on socials, or sharing our posts. Thank you to everyone, and happy April 8th!
